Is socialism a solution?

Milton Friedman was a Nobel Prize winner for economics. He had various roles, including advisor for several presidents. He talked with people of many nations and knew the reality of economic choices.
Here is his observation about socialism.
“Socialism has ideals that are admirable and that few would argue against.”
He pauses as his audience comes into agreement.
“However, socialism seeks to accomplish its goals with other people’s money. To use other people’s money, they first have to take it from them.”
Zinger! It’s true! Milton concludes:
“Therefore, the essence of socialism is force, not freedom.”
How does freedom promote the same social goals? In America, people are free to spend their own money to fulfill those goals.
Did you know that America was rated the No. 1 most generous country in the world for the decade of 2008-2019?
This is based on a Gallup’s World Poll survey of over a million people which asked respondents whether they had, in the last month: helped someone they didn’t know who needed help, donated money to charity, or volunteered their time to an organization. Americans came out as the most generous country!
In America, two thirds of the money given to charities is from individuals. One third comes from corporations and foundations.
We can make a difference just because we want to!
