Choices Have Consequences
Updated: Oct 6

I used AI to generate this picture showing unexpected consequences! Ha!
We always have a choice:
· What we think and believe
· What we say
· What we do
Even when we think we know the consequences of our choice, we can never control all of the consequences.
If I choose to slap someone across the face, I cannot determine what their response will be. They may yell, they may fight, they may laugh, or they may turn and walk away. After my choice, they now have a choice about what to think, what to say, and what to do.
We have other choices, such as when to plant a garden. I can choose to plant in the winter, but I cannot make it grow when the temperature is below freezing. There are consequences in the natural world. No matter how much I want a garden, to have a harvest I must understand some basics of gardening. These are things to consider before making a choice.
Certain results come from specific choices. We can look at the results that others have achieved and try to get the same results with different choices. What appears to be an “unfair advantage” can actually be directed tied to a specific choice. Different paths lead to different destinations. If we want a different result, we must honestly evaluate our choices.
The best place to start getting a different result is to search for different choices available personally, without expecting others to change. I have been amazed when I have made a small change and an entire situation changed. I can make an immediate change.
It takes a different perspective to assume responsibility for our own choices, but it is fulfilling and rewarding.
